What’s your background?
Born and raised in San Diego, Dan has spent his entire life there, other than a few years going to school in Los Angeles. Since 2004, Dan has volunteered a significant amount of time to the largest Hospice in San Diego, The Elizabeth Hospice, as a Board Member. He is currently serving a second term as Chairman of the Board (2022-2024).

What’s something about you that few people might know?
Dan is a teacher at heart but he knew that the traditional model of teaching was not for him, so he found a way to do it differently. Over a 15 year period, he hired and trained more than 130 financial planners for other companies. He still loves teaching, but now he chooses to get that fulfillment by teaching his clients and their kids how to make good decisions around money.

What are the values that drive you?
The values that drive Dan are honesty, fairness and doing the right thing, even when it is hard.

In Dan’s opinion, his role is to take a subject that can be scary and intimidating to people and to present it in such a way that it takes the fear out of it and allows people to develop a sense of basic level of confidence, allowing them to make the best decisions for themselves.
